I'm definitely gonna paint or powder coat the cam tower and intake on the 944 for sure now. Take a look at some of my favorite options.

Here are my favorite options:

Option 1

Kinja'd!!!

Red cam tower, silver fuel rails and dark grey intake.

Option 2

Kinja'd!!!

Red cam tower, black fuel rails, polished silver intake.

Option 3

Kinja'd!!!

Red cam tower, black fuel rails, white intake; kinda bleh.

I like option 1 best, but I love hearing your opinoins Oppo, so lets hear'em! :)

And I bet your wondering why I haven't posted anything about it with a massive photodump and a huge FP'd(maybe not) story; and that I've been reposting the same pictures as filler. That's because I'm saving that for my one-year Oppoversary; November 27th, remember the date! :P

keep in mind paint and powder coating could retain heat on the intake, I say bare clean aluminum.

It could, however there also might be coatings that keep heat out... im not up on it too much, i just remember an old wrench turning telling me not to paint an aluminum intake because it holds in heat.

No worries, my first concern right now will to work on the underbody; have you got some jacks or a lift I could use some time?

whats wrong with the underbody?

To be put in a way I think makes sense, I have no money to put aside for winter tires; the 944 has radial all-seasons, I'm gonna plan on driving it in the winter(and maybe even make it the primary daily driver because it'll be the first car I actually own myself) even though it's a car that's never been driven in winter in it's 30 year life; but I'm gonna coat as much of the underbody in rust inhibitor(POR-15) as possible; the 30-year old factory undercoat is still there, but I don't see why adding one layer of added and newer coating would hurt. Trust me, it'll work.

Since I've got no jacks or lifts, I need one or some to do this, or something to raise the car so I can get underneath it(blocks or wood?). Help? :)

Yeah, we can do that. no problem. I've got a jack and high jack stands we can use.

Nice! :)

It won't be for a while though; I've got to order the stuff and all and that won't be until at least late October/early November.
